Painting With Kerby’s Tongue
The series is a result of a collaboration between musician Adam Kerby and myself: Using the words in his poetry as my subject matter for the paintings. I selected a process of cutting out individual words of his poems, putting them in a hat and drawing them at random. As I drew a word I painted onto the canvas. I was attempting to see if Kerby’s original concept/idea of the poem would still be evident through my process.
